Juicy shrimp, rosy sauce, bacon, sweet peas... What more could you ask for in a pasta dish? With a cook time of less than 20 minutes, you won't have time to think twice about feeding your family this delicious dinner. Preparation

Cook pasta

  • To a large pot, add 10 cups water and 2 tsp salt (use same for 4 servings). Cover and bring to a boil over high heat. Wash and dry all produce. 
  • Add penne to the boiling water. Cook uncovered dor 12-14 min, stirring occasionally, until tender.
  • Reserve 1 cup (2 cups) pasta water, then drain and return penne to the same pot, off heat.

Prep and cook bacon

  • Roughly chop spinach.
  • Using a strainer, drain and rinse shrimp, then pat dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Heat a large non-stick pan over medium. When hot, add bacon. Cook for 5-7 min, flipping occasionally, until crispy.** Remove from heat. Using tongs, transfer bacon to a paper towel-lined plate. Set aside. Carefully wipe out pan.

Cook shrimp and peas

  • Heat the same pan over medium-high.
  • When the pan is hot, add 1/2 tbsp (1 tbsp) oil, then shrimp. Cook for 2-3 min, stirring occasionally, until shrimp just turn pink.**
  • Transfer to a plate.
  • Reheat pan over medium. When hot, add 1 tbsp (2 tbsp) butter and peas. Cook, for 2-3 min, stirring often, until fragrant.

Make sauce

  • Sprinkle Cream Sauce Spice Blend over top. Stir to coat.
  • Add tomato sauce base, pesto and half the reserved pasta water.
  • Cook for 2-3 min, stirring occasionally, until sauce is smooth.

Finish and serve

  • To the pan of sauce, add penne, shrimp, spinach, sour cream and half the Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 1-2 min, stirring often until spinach wilts.** (TIP: For a lighter sauce consistency, add reserved pasta water, 1-2 tbsp at a time.)
  • Divide penne and shrimp between plates.
  • Roughly chop bacon.
  • Sprinkle bacon and remaining Parmesan over top.

If you've opted to add bacon, heat a large non-stick pan over medium. When hot, add bacon. Cook for 5-7 min, flipping occasionally, until crispy.** Remove from heat. Using tongs, transfer bacon to a paper towel-lined plate. Set aside. Carefully wipe out pan.

Roughly chop bacon. Top pasta with bacon.
