Ingredients: Ground turkey • Broccoli • Cavatappi (durum wheat semolina, niacin, ferrous sulphate, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid) (wheat) • Monterey Jack cheese (pasteurized milk, modified milk ingredients, cream, salt, microbial enzymes, bacterial culture, calcium chloride, cellulose, natamycin) (milk) • Cheddar cheese (pasteurized milk, modified milk ingredients, cream, bacterial culture, salt, annatto, beta-carotene, calcium chloride, microbial enzyme, cellulose, natamycin) (milk) • Ketchup (tomato paste, water, sugars (sugar, glucose-fructose), vinegar, salt, seasoning, onion powder, spices, citric acid, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate) • All-purpose flour (wheat) • Smoked paprika-garlic blend (smoked paprika, garlic powder, silicon dioxide) (sulphites).

Preparation

Prep broccoli

  • Before starting, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil (use same for 4 servings). Wash and dry all produce.
  • Young Chef: Use a kid-friendly knife to cut broccoli into bite-sized pieces.

Cook pasta

  • To the boiling water, add pasta. Cook uncovered for 7 min, stirring occasionally. 
  • Add broccoli. 
  • Cook for 3-4 min, until pasta and broccoli are tender.
  • Reserve 1/4 cup (1/2 cup) pasta water, then drain and return pasta and broccoli to the same pot, off heat.

Cook turkey

 

  • Heat a large non-stick pan over medium-high. When hot, add 1 tbsp (2 tbsp) oil, then turkey. Cook for 4-5 min, breaking up turkey into smaller pieces, until no pink remains.**
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Remove the pan from heat.

Start sauce

  •  
  • Young Chef: Sprinkle flour over turkey, then stir to coat. 
  • Young Chef: Add 1 cup (2 cups) milk to the pan.
  • Return the pan to medium heat and whisk until combined. Whisk in half the Smoked Paprika-Garlic Blend. Cook 1-2 min, whisking often, until sauce thickens slightly.

Finish sauce

  • Remove the pan from heat. 
  • Young Chef: Sprinkle in Monterey Jack and white cheddar. Stir constantly for 1 min, until combined.

Finish and serve

  • Add cheese and turkey mixture to the large pot with pasta and broccoli. 
  • Young Chef: Use a large spoon or spatula to stir it all together.  
  • Divide mac and cheese between plates or bowls.
  • Drizzle with ketchup if you like.
